Two New Budget Android Smartphones Launched, Courtesy Videocon

Videocon is not leaving any stone unturned to tap the Indian budget smartphone market. In a recent, the Indian smartphone maker has launched two new budget Android smartphones in the country, known as Videocon Z40Q Star and Z50Q Star. The two smartphones are priced at rs 4,499 and Rs 5,999 respectively and will be available for purchase soon.



Jerold Pereira, CEO, Videocon Mobile Phones says in a press statement, “In line up to the ongoing Digital Revolution in the country, Videocon is determined to introduce consumer-focused devices which are high on style and cost-effectiveness. With our superb smartphone range, we ensure that the varied needs of new-age smartphone users are being fulfilled indigenously.”

Both the latest Videocon smartphones run on Android 4.4 aka KitKat operating system and are powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor. Other common specifications of the two smartphones include 4GB of internal storage, 5MP rear camera, microSD card slot and 3G support.

However, there are some differences too. The Videocon Z40Q Star packs a 10.16-cm (4-inch) WVGA display along with a VGA front shooter. The budget smartphone runs on a 1500 mAh battery, and is fitted with 512MB of RAM. 

On the other hand, the Videocon Z50Q Star smartphone comes with 12.7-cm (5-inch) FWVGA display, and is fitted with 2000 mAh battery. It also has 1GB of RAM and 2MP front camera. The two smartphones come pre-loaded with V-safe app, which is a safety tool designed for women, elderly people and children for security purpose in any emergency or panic situations and V-secure app, which is a mobile security app to protect the device against malware and malicious apps.
