Change is the only constant and it's so very true when it comes to technology. Every year so many new technologies are arriving and many of them have the potential to become a part of the mainstream technologies. We can consider a smartwatch in this scenario which was just a prototype two years ago and now almost all the tech majors are creating innovative smartwatches. There are some other technologies too which look promising enough to become a part of the mainstream segment. Here are ten out of them:

Google Glass has proved a little bit how a smart glass can evolve our world and Google Glass has marked the beginning of a new era. Within a couple of years from now, Google will be releasing a consumer version of the smart glass too which will be more reasonable. As Google Glass is already in the scene, it's unlikely that other companies don't plan to launch their respective smart glasses in competition with the Google Glass.

Well smart houses are not a distant dream anymore. Smart appliances are already there as refrigerators can alert you when a particular food item is running out or an oven which can be controlled via a smartphone. In future, all these smart appliances will be merged together into an entire home unit and the entire home will be controlled by a smartphone, a tablet or a computer. You will be able to change the TV channel and get laundry notifications without even moving a bit from your sofa. Your house will talk to you and you will talk to your house soon. This day is not far away now.

Things will be displayed but without a screen. In last two years, this technology has advanced a lot and will take full shape in the coming years. Holograms are becoming reality now. Contact lenses will be able to capture images too. This will be a huge achievement not only for the entertainment industry but visually impaired people will also benefit a lot with a simple laser surgery.
6. Brain-computer Interface:
This is already a reality. Through this method quadriplegics talk via computers but the technology require more refinement before becoming part of mainstream technology. You may not require a mouse or a keyboard in future to use a computer. Just think about something and the computer will do that for you. People with disabilities will benefit a lot from this technology as well as gamers.
7. Robots:
Robotics has taken a complete new shape in the last decade and the coming decade will bring much more interesting innovations. Stable and reliable robots are what the world is awaiting. These robots will be able to do such manual work which humans are usually unwilling to do. Robots will also be able to perform surgery on humans with full control in doctors' hands.
8. Renewable Energy:
In next few decades, solar and wind energy will see green revolution. People are looking for energy sources in almost everything now. Though we are still very much dependent on oil and coal for energy, but in next years the world will change with electric cars, solar panels at houses and so on.
